Content Archival Policy (CAP)

The Content Archival Policy (CAP) for the ICAR-National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics (ICAR-NIVEDI) website defines the duration and process for archiving outdated, expired, or irrelevant content in a structured and secure manner.

1. Objective

To ensure that the website remains current, relevant, and clutter-free by removing or archiving obsolete content in a timely and systematic manner.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all content types on the ICAR-NIVEDI website, including documents, reports, notifications, tenders, circulars, announcements, and media files.

3. Content Review Timeline

All web content will be reviewed once every three months by the Web Information Manager (WIM).
Time-bound content such as tenders or event notices will be marked with an expiry date and removed or archived after that date.

4. Archival Procedure

Expired content will be moved to a designated “Archived” section for public or internal access, depending on the content type.
Archived content will include metadata such as date of publication, archive date, and category for easy retrieval.

5. Responsibilities

The Web Information Manager is responsible for implementing and monitoring the archival process.
Content contributors must indicate whether content is time-bound or long-term at the time of submission.

6. Access to Archived Content

Archived content will be accessible from a dedicated "Archives" section on the website, categorized by content type and year. Sensitive or internal content may be restricted based on access level.

7. Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed annually or as required to incorporate best practices and ensure compliance with Government of India web guidelines.
