Under the guidance of these distinguished directors, ICAR-NIVEDI has established itself as a premier institution in veterinary epidemiology and disease informatics in India. Their vision and leadership have been instrumental in developing cutting-edge research, diagnostic capabilities, and surveillance systems for animal diseases across the country.

Key Institutional Milestones

The institute was established in 2000 as Project Directorate on Animal Disease Monitoring and Surveillance (PD_ADMAS) under the leadership of Dr. M. Rajasekhar.

Under Dr. K. Prabhudas, the institute built strong foundations in disease surveillance methodologies and epidemiological studies.

Dr. H. Rahman's tenure saw significant expansion of the institute's research infrastructure and collaborations.

During Dr. Parimal Roy's leadership, the institute was elevated to the status of National Institute (NIVEDI) recognizing its contributions to veterinary epidemiology.
